Here's a small sampling of some of the holistic workshops that we designed to bring together the elements of mindfulness, self-inquiry, movement and creativity.  Our hope is that these experiential workshops will inspire you to further explore your unique gifts and assist you on your path to creating a life you love!  Zen Gypsies will work with you to customize a workshop experience tailored to your specific needs, whether you are group of two or twenty-two.  Some examples might include:

MINDFULNESS AND CREATIVITY

 


Vision Board Workshop (2 hours)
Take time out to infuse some mindfulness and creative inspiration into your day.  A vision board is a powerful visualization tool that represents where you are going through pictures.   After a mindfulness exercise, we'll help you creatively gather your thoughts, dreams, goals and intentions into your journal.  After some gentle movement to ground and center you and a few tasty treats, we'll show you how to turn the thoughts in your journal into a vision board that you can use as daily pictorial inspiration to empower you as you move towards your dreams and goals. 







 
Create Natural Beauty Products Workshop (2 hours)  
There are many good organic and natural beauty product options available commercially, but with a little creative play in the kitchen, it is possible to make many of these products economically at home.  Join us in this hands-on workshop as we show you how to make your own skin softening bath salts and exfoliating sugar scrub. There will also be a demonstration of crafting whipped shea butter moisturizer. 



Create Your Own Caravan Mini-Retreat (3 hours)
These days we are all longing for connection and community.  In this fast-paced world where communication occurs primarily through text, email or social media, meaningful, intimate face to face communication can sometimes be a challenge.  Join us with a friend or two for a special workshop on building community.  We will start with a mindfulness exercise to leave the world behind for some self-reflection through a short meditation or guided journal writing session.  Afterwards, we’ll get our bodies moving with a fun dance inspired movement session.  After some refreshments, we’ll build our caravan.  Bring a special memento to share with the group, a story, a poem, a dance, a piece of artwork, or anything you’d like to share in a safe and nurturing environment.  As like-minded seekers, you will return home inspired to share the practice with family and others, deepening connections or creating some that perhaps didn’t exist before. 


Holistic Mindfulness Mini-Retreat (3 hours)
Come join us as we invite you to pause, slow down, and take some time out to focus on you. Zen Gypsies’ mission is to create an oasis of calm and ignite a sense of play and adventure that will allow your creative spirit to open to unlimited possibilities.  We will start with a mindfulness exercise to leave the world behind for some self-reflection through guided journal writing.  We will then get our bodies moving with a fun dance inspired movement session.  After a few refreshments we'll settle in for some creative play through art journaling taking your dreams from words into pictures. You will return home inspired to incorporate a dose of mindfulness into your everyday.

MINDFUL EATING


 
Food in Jars (2 hours)
Hands-on cooking class to teach you easy to make ahead vegan breakfast, lunch or snack options that are made portable by being served in mason jars.  Prep a few jars ahead of time and just grab one as you head out the door for your day.  Examples of what we will make:  bircher muesli, salad in jars including a homemade salad dressing and chia seed pudding parfaits all of which you will have to take home with you at the end of class.  A green smoothie will also be demonstrated for sampling in class.  All the menu items made in class will be vegan with vegetarian and omnivore friendly substitutions discussed.









Vegetarian Tea Treats (2 hours)
Based on our Tea and Journaling Workshop, featured in our blog post Savory Tea Treats, learn to put together your own delicious vegetarian high tea.  We’ll use some of the recipes detailed on the blog as well as show you some luscious alternatives for variations on the theme.

MOVEMENT


Momentum Workshop (1 hour)
Ready to shake up your regular fitness routine? Join us for an hour of dance and a whole lot of laughter. Through a combination of stretching, functional movement and various dance disciplines gain strength and flexibility.  Be prepared to sweat. All levels welcome.


Introduction to Belly Dance Workshop (1 hour)
Ready to belly dance? In an hour packed workshop learn a little history, culture and foundation moves of raqs sharki better known as belly dance. Leave with a shimmy in your step and a smile on your face.
