Introduction to Belly Dance Workshop

Ready to belly dance? In an hour packed workshop learn a little history, culture and foundation moves of raqs sharki better known as belly dance. Leave with a shimmy in your step and a smile on your face.  Please wear comfortable, stretchy, clothing that permit easy movement such as yoga pants, leggings and a sports top or t-shirt.  Class movements are intended for bare feet or dance shoes.  No prior dance experience necessary.

Take time out to infuse some mindfulness and creative inspiration into your day.  A vision board is a powerful visualization tool that represents where you are going through pictures.   After a mindfulness exercise, we'll help you creatively gather your thoughts, dreams, goals and intentions into your journal.  After some gentle movement to ground and center you, we'll show you how how to turn the thoughts in your journal into a vision board that you can use as daily pictorial inspiration to empower you as you move towards your dreams and goals. Bring your journal and any special images you would like to include in your board, and we'll provide all the rest of the materials needed.

Based on our Tea and Journaling Workshop, featured in our blog post Savory Tea Treats, learn to put together your own delicious vegetarian high tea.  We’ll use some of the recipes detailed on the blog as well as show you some luscious alternatives for variations on the theme.  Savor these treats for a special occasion or pack them to make any lunch an extraordinary meal.

Natural Beauties Workshop

There are many good organic and natural beauty product options available commercially, but with a little creative play in the kitchen, it is possible to make many of these products economically at home. Join us in this hands-on workshop as we show you how to make your own skin softening bath salts, exfoliating sugar scrub and a gentle body wash. To round out the session, we will have a short mindfulness exercise for grounding and centering to honor our natural beauty within.





Food in Jars Workshop

Hands-on cooking class to teach you easy to make ahead vegan breakfast, lunch or snack options that are made portable by being served in mason jars.  Prep a few jars ahead of time and just grab one as you head out the door for your day.  Examples of what we will make:  bircher muesli, salad in jars including a homemade salad dressing and chia seed pudding parfaits all of which you will have to take home with you at the end of class. All the menu items made in class will be vegan with vegetarian and omnivore friendly substitutions discussed.   To round out the evening, we will have a short mindfulness in savoring exercise  for grounding and centering.
